Magali’s Top 10 Picks from Lookfantastic India

1. Ardell Deluxe Lashes Pack

Lookfantastic India, Ardell Deluxe Lash PackJune was a pretty momentous month for me (beauty-wise, at least!) because I tried false lashes for the first time – I even discussed it in my June Favorites video).

I always had a ton of misconceptions regarding false eyelashes (or falsies) – that were only reserved for models / actresses, that they would be too fiddly or difficult to put and remove, or that since I already had pretty long lashes, I didn’t need them.

Turns out, they’re ridiculously easy to put on (& I am the clumsiest person on earth. I once almost epilated part of my head), so comfortable to wear & just look good. I’m officially a falsies convert & have started stocking up on Ardell Lashes. The reason I’m recommending this pack is that it’s absolutely perfect for beginners – you get two sets of their 110 lashes, an adequate amount of their famous duo lash adhesive & a special lash application tool so you don’t have to mess around with a sharp tweezer. And it’s all at a very affordable cost!

2. Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki

10929592-2064315830412434Sigma is a brand I’ve admired ever since I started beauty blogging (over six years ago) for their fantastic brushes & more recently their equally good brush cleaning equipment.

If you use liquid or cream foundation, you need the F80 brush in your life! Sure, you can use your fingers to apply product but when you first switch to using a brush, you’ll hear the angels sing!

The F80 Kabuki didn’t get it’s cult status for nothing – it’s perfect to effortlessly blend your foundation so it looks absolutely airbrushed & streak free, just like skin! It’ll up your makeup game in a snap. Whether you’re a beginner just starting out with makeup or a pro looking to have the best in your kit, you can’t do without this brush.

3. Maybelline Brow Drama Eyebrow Mascara (Dark Brown)

Lookfantastic India, Maybelline Brow MascaraFilling in your eyebrows is something that isn’t all that common in India. Heck, even I ignored it for quite a while but when I first tried it, I had another one of those aha moments!

Maybelline is hands down my favorite drugstore brand in India. However, they haven’t released this brow mascara here yet, which makes me doubly thankful for Lookfantastic India. It’s an effortless way to get better defined brows, dark brown would be perfect for most Indian skin tones!

4. Ciaté London Bikini Body Balm – Bronze

11184128-4224351383562617I’ve begun to love using a bit of highlighter to bring out the best features of my face. The next step is of course to get a body highlighter. This one by Ciaté will add a bit of colour & sheen, it’s pigmented enough to make a difference but still blends so easily it doesn’t stand out like, say, body glitter.

The perfect thing to have for evenings, I’d recommend using this on your legs (as mine can be a bit paler than the rest of my body), collar bones, décolletage etc.

A quick & easy way to look like a goddess the next time you go on a night out or even attend an evening function – that’s not to say you can’t use this in the daytime, the sun will reflect off it beautifully!

5. Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzer Duo

10948662-1398341569-262523

Another brand I was so excited to see on Lookfantastic India is Bourjois, as it was becoming increasingly hard to get a hold of their products here!

Bourjois Delice de Poudre is another one of those products that has stood the test of time. It was the first bronzer I ever bought & it set off a life long obsession of sorts.

The Delice de Poudre duo has both a bronzer (with hints of shimmer) & highlighter so it’s more bang for your buck, plus two in one products save a ton of space in your makeup bag. You can use these separately or swirl them together for a bronzed glow. They also have the classic Delice de Poudre bronzer or the newer maxi delight shimmery bronzer (glowy bronzers are my personal favorite). Oh & did I mention, they’re all super affordable!

6. theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter

10554988-4534367425061025

theBalm is another one of my favorite luxury makeup brands that I was very excited to see on Lookfantastic India. I definitely want to explore more of their range like their lipsticks, but for my recommendation I’ll stick to a tried & tested favorite, the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter. I’ve had this since over two years & it’s the most amazing, buttery, pigmented & versatile highlighter. I can’t extoll it’s virtues enough, plus you get a lot of product for the price.

Mary Lou is champagne coloured, but you can also check out her ‘sisters’ Rose-tinted Cindy Lou Manizer or (& I have my eye on this one!) bronzy Betty Lou Manizer.

7. Caudalie Mix & Masks Trio

Lookfantastic IndiaMakeup has sort of dominated my list this far so I thought I’d bring some skincare into the mix.

Caudalie, the premium French skincare brand is on Lookfantastic India & one of the many things that caught my eye was this mask trio.

This kit contains three smaller sizes (25ml) of some of the brand’s luxurious face masks, namely the detox mask, moisturizing mask & the glycolic peel. It’s a great way to test the masks before you go for full sizes, plus smaller ones make it ideal to slip into your travel beauty kit.

8. Babyliss Big Hair Air Styler 42mm

LookfantasticI have hair that is naturally kind of unruly. Add Mumbai’s crazy humid weather to the mix, & it’s practically unmanageable!

If I want it to look good, I need to heat style it but I’ve no patience for small, travel dryers & I find big professional dryers a bit hard to manage, especially for styling my own hair (they’re so heavy!) plus, I feel like you need to learn some serious skills to be able to give yourself even a half decent blowout.

I’ve wanted to dry the Babyliss Air Styler for a while because it promises those big, bouncy & voluminous salon like blowouts at home, even if you don’t have mad hairstyling chops. It’s ridiculously easy to use & the results actually last until your next wash (not just half an hour like most of my amateur styling experiments!) And it’s again something that’s quite economically priced, so if you have difficult to manage hair & don’t want to spend forever taming it, this purchase is a no-brainer.

9. Foreo Luna Go (for sensitive skin)

Lookfantastic IndiaAt the risk of repeating myself for the umpteenth time, here is yet another brand that I’ve admired for a while but didn’t have access to, until now. Foreo has been making waves for it’s innovative Luna line of facial cleansing devices.

There are quite a few variants now (for different needs/ functions/ prices), my personal pick is the Luna Go because it’s a bit more compact than the original (making it supremely travel friendly) & still easily rechargeable. There are a bunch of cute colours, I’d go with purple because it’s for sensitive skin, they also have versions for normal, combination & oily skin.

10. ghd Serene Pearl Platinum Styler (limited edition)

11252200-1744381641465072Poker straight hair might be very out of fashion but a hair straightener is still an indispensable part of my beauty kit, whether I’m at home or travelling!

ghd is known to be the very best in hair straighteners & stylers, they’ve been on my wishlist for years, but sadly never available in India… until now!

This ghd platinum stylers are a bit of a splurge but you’re paying for the very best. These are ideal if you want a sleek, straight look, just tame bangs & flyaways or even do beachy, effortless waves.

The ghd Serene Pearl Platinum Styler is my top pick because it’s such a stunning color (who doesn’t love the iridescent, oil slick like finish?) plus it’s limited edition, which means it’s your chance to own something unique. If it’s not your style, the Platinum styler is also available in the super chic white variant or classic black.
