I’ve always loved dressing up & I believe this blog is the best testament to it. But in the last two years, I’ve really stepped up my fashion game! I went from someone who used to only dress up for special occasions to someone who likes to put effort into my regular fits, even if I’m just running an errand. It not only livens up my day-to-day, but I can get the satisfaction of styling the things I own rather than just seeing them hang in my wardrobe. I also really enjoy the process of styling favourites in new & unique ways. So today, I thought I’d share the things I keep reaching for (or just never take off) to inspire you to find your next staple piece:
Dainty Earrings
I love accessorising, but I’m not the biggest fan of switching up my earrings very often. Enter: dainty gold huggie earrings. I especially like hinged huggies in 14k gold because I can pop them in & forget about them for years. I wear my small 10mm huggies in my second piercing 24x7x365, yes they’re fine for showers, workouts or the beach. They compliment larger statement earrings or look great on their own, too. They’re a solid investment that you can wear for years & even pass down later.
Mary Janes
Mary Jane shoes are back, but the question is, did they ever really leave? I love seeing all the hybrids like mary jane sneakers, mary jane crocs & even mary jane uggs (no, I’m not making any of that up!) So of course I had to snag a pair, & I kept it very classic with these Clarks school shoes. I really enjoy the two toned leather (matte with a shiny patent toe area) & I find that they’re the perfect blank canvas to accessorize with really fun printed socks!
Bright Sunglasses
After being a Ray-Ban sunglass loyalist for more than a decade, I made the switch to fun, bright plastic shades instead. The built means that they’re super lightweight & I’m not as precious with them. I was able to buy a bunch in different colours & shapes, which means I have one or multiple options for every single outfit! I love dopamine dressing – most of my outfits have one or more bright color in them & the sunnies are really the cherry on top!
