Late last year I reviewed The Body Shop’s Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil in a video. The Body Shop recently expanded on well received range by introducing the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream. I’ve been testing it for one and a half month & it’s high time that I write about it here on the blog!
The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream (₹2495 for 80ml, buy online here)
What they say: By infusing 3 precious seed oils from around the world, known for their revitalising and repairing properties on skin – Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Camellia seed oil from China and Rosehip seed oil from Chile – in to a silky cream with perfecting micro-pearls, we created a daily cream that intensely revitalises skin, replenishes moisture and revives radiance. Signs of ageing appear visibly reduced. From the moment it touches the skin, this Intensely Revitalising Cream effortlessly melts onto the face, leaving a light and comfortable finish without a greasy feel.
The packaging of this range corresponds with the existing oil- a heavy yellow / amber glass jar with a plastic stopper & black lid, very luxe. Sleeping Cream seems to just be a another (cuter?) way of saying night cream.
This cream has no artificial fragrance, but the blend of essential oils used makes it have a pretty strong smell on it’s own. I don’t hate it but don’t love it either, I did get used to it rather quickly. It does smell exactly like the facial oil.
Not going to lie, I was a bit vary of using this at first because night creams tend to be a little bit heavier & my skin is already very oily. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the texture, it seems to sort of be somewhere between a cream & gel. It’s very nourishing if you’re skin is dehydrated, yet it never feels heavy & gets fully absorbed pretty quickly, leaving no oiliness behind – so much so that I found myself reaching for a little bit in the morning too, just to give my skin an extra dose of hydration. I think this cream would easily suit all skin types, people with dryer skin can just use a little bit more. And although it isn’t the cheapest, it’s super potent, which means it’ll last quite a while, even with daily use.
If you’re looking for a nourishing night cream that still doesn’t feel overtly heavy or greasy, this would be a great addition to your night time skincare routine. Me & mom are both using the same cream (different skin types & ages, it still works perfectly) & we’ll see the end of the jar pretty soon.
The Body Shop is also running the Find Reggie Love Bio Bridge Campaign. Reggie is a Red Shanked Douc found in the Khe Nuoc Trong forest, which is the setting for their Bio-Bridge in Vietnam, and one purchase restores one square metre of rainforest. I think it’s a wonderful initiative!
