BB cream started in Korea. BB stands stands for blemish balm, blemish base, or beblesh balm. It is a cosmetic item sold mainly in East and Southeast Asia, although larger beauty brands are increasingly introducing BB creams to Western markets.
2012 saw the launch of Maybelline BB Cream in India & now Garnier has launched this. There will obviously be a lot of comparisons!
Price: Rs 99 for 18 g, Rs 199 for 40 g
What they Promise: BB Cream is skin care that instantly & effectively helps make your skin perfect (in five ways) •Fairer •Glowing •Smooth •Even Tones •Moisturised. It’s an all-in-one cream that combines multiple beauty routine steps in one. Hence, save time – in just one application brighten, smoothen & moisturise your skin.
There is only one shade available but since it’s rather sheer it will go with a lot of different skin tones. It’s lightweight, easy to blend & has a very pleasing scent (sort of like warm vanilla) which lingers for a while. The coverage is definitely quite sheer – it will even out the skin tone & cover very minor blemishes but will never take the place of a foundation or concealer. It’s not very greasy too so that’s a big plus point for my combination-oily skin, though folks with dryer skin will have to use a moisturiser. I just apply some of this, finish with a little powder & I’m good to go!

Pros:

✔ Lightweight, blends easily
✔ Lasts the whole day
✔ Multitasks!
✔ Reasonably priced

Cons:

✘ Sheer coverage
✘ Just one shade
Rating: 4/5
Will I repurchase? Yes!
This is the kind of product that you will really like if it suits your needs. As I said, this is definitely not meant to replace foundation but if you’re like me (I don’t wear any foundation) are busy/lazy & are looking for an economical product that multitasks you’ll definitely love it.
love,
Magali
