Today I’m reviewing Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Lip Gloss. It’s available in 12 shades & I got hold of the shade One Shine Day (30). I think the name itself is quite fun, I always appreciate wordplay.

What they say: Lavish lips with a molten hot glaze. More Vibrant Color from pure liquid pigments. Cleaner Shine from our 100% wax-free gloss. Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar. Now gloss goes gutsy in 12 arresting shades.

The packaging is pretty standard, a long square hard plastic tube. Nothing exciting but quite functional, it locks shut nicely to prevent any leakage. Once you take off the initial plastic wrap there is no Maybelline branding on the tube, save for a tiny sticker on the bottom that mentions the shade (sorry I forgot to photograph it).
It has a doe foot applicator, something we see a lot on lip glosses.
Like many of you I lip glosses along with kajal (kohl) were the first beauty products I was allowed to try as a 12 year old (not often, haha!)
This was back when all of us thought lipsticks were ugly & only for grannies. But then late last year I really started to get into listicks & since then my glosses have remained untouched.
So I’m using gloss after quite a while & it brought back some nice memories.
This gloss is a medium pigmented bright coral-pink? with fine shimmer. I usually steer clear of any face products with glitter or shimmer in them but I found this tolerable & not over the top in any way.
I really like the formula too, it’s light & non sticky. Staying power isn’t all that long, like most lipglosses it will survive a couple of hours if you don’t eat or drink anything in that period. Basically you’ll need to carry it around for reapplications.
Pros:
✔ Pretty shade.
✔ Gives a nice flush of color.
✔ Easily available at Maybelline counters.
Cons:
✘ Wear time could be better!
Price: ₹350 for 5ml
Rating: 3.5/5
Will I Repurchase? Not the very same as it’ll last a while, maybe in some other color?

Despite generally avoiding glosses, this one is surprisingly nice. It’s slightly bright it’s also very easy to wear & I think it will suit a variety of age groups & skin tones. It’s another lip product that’s perfect for spring / summer & a great way to add a quick swipe of color even if you’re in a hurry.
