One of the main reasons I started the fashion section on Magalic.com was to document my personal style for myself, it’s quite a lot of fun to browse the archives & see how my style has evolved over the years. For some reason this almost feels like a throwback look, I used to be obsessed with vintage styles & here I am with a very 70s inspired look, right from the dress to the funky patent block heels.

The dress is from Alice’s Pig, a British label from Brixton in South London (Brixton is also David Bowie’s birthplace). Their outfits are best described as Urban Vintage. While browsing their website, I was instantly drawn to the Susie’s Shamrock dress. The fabric is just perfect for hot summer days when you don’t want to wear heavy clothes. The Shamrock is a classic symbol of luck, so what could be luckier than a dress with hundreds of shamrocks on it?

I paired it with my newest shoes, the Clarks Orla Betty (from the Clarks X Orla Kiely collab). Would you believe I was eyeing this pair for around a year? The steep price & the fact that these are patent leather kept me away initially, but as soon as I saw these were on sale, I had to snap them up! As a girl who can’t walk in regular heel shoes, I’ve been obsessed with block heels because they’re so comfortable & easy, I can stand for hours or even run in them. Even though they’re such a statement pair, they go with a lot of outfit in my closet, so I know I’ll get a lot of use out of them.

These past few weeks haven’t been my happiest, in fact I’ve just been feeling low & generally bummed out a lot of times. While it’s characteristic of me to mope & feel a bit of self pity during times like this; I didn’t let it drag me down. In fact, I actually was in full beast mode – I decluttered, got a lot of pending work done, got regular with the gym & bought Apple Watch! The latter is to try & track my daily activity & achieve more fitness goals. So I think I’m allowed to pat myself on the back for the way I handled things. I know it’s a slightly vain thing to say, but I think most of us are very hard on ourselves & it doesn’t hurt to be kinder, both to yourself & others!

I’ll be doing a little blog post on my Apple Watch soon, so if you have any questions about the device feel free to leave a comment so I can address it in my post.

Oh & my Colourpop Makeup Haul will be live really soon on my YouTube Channel! x
