Kalki Fashion is brings back modern romance for the chill bride who likes to make heads turn.

When it comes to stylish ethnic wear, Kalki Fashion is one brand whose collections I always look forward to. They always seem to effortlessly blend traditional design with contemporary elements, grandeur with wearability.

And they’ve done it once again, with the newly launched Zinnia Collection. KALKI Fashion’s Spring Summer 19 Collection. ‘ZINNIA’ evokes modern romanticism with summer fog blues, mighty mauves, the lime greens, the spicy mustards, the fuchsia pinks and the fiery reds. The collection was showcased at Bombay Times Fashion Week 2019 at St. Regis, Mumbai.

For SS19, the brand took inspiration from multifarious Zinnia. Just as the flower is well known for the variety of bright hues it comes in, the collection showcased rage of appearances in array of multi-colors and hues to create a sense of a romantic summer dream.

The Zinnia Bride is the antithesis of a bridezilla. She’s chill, laidback, stylish& confident. She makes heads turns wherever she goes & knows how to have fun!

The Glam Queen Malaika Arora was the perfect showstopper for the collection. She walked the ramp in a fiery red designer gown. Saurabh Gupta, Director of KALKI revealed that, “Since the collection is about modern romance where elegance meets glamour, Malaika was the perfect muse for the collection. KALKI custom designed Malaika’s gown over an extensive 8-week period with intricately hand embroidered flowers to create a timeless masterpiece. The final outcome was nothing less than perfection as Malaika carried the style with utmost confidence and modern attitude”. She paired the gown with nude lips, eyeliner, curled lashes & strong brows.

Some of the more distinctive features that I noticed were the cut-work diamond embellishments, summer sequins, multi-color and monotone floral hand embroidery. The textiles used varied from rich silks to breezy sheers & gave the collection a unique flow and feels which keeps it light and easy to dance to.

I love the bright colours of the Zinnia collection as well as the different type of garments. The gowns are my favorite but I’m also partial to the exquisitely crafted jumpsuits.
