With the festival of lights upon us, I thought I’d share a look featuring this gorgeous anarkali I got online…

Despite being born & brought up in Mumbai, I don’t own a lot of ethnic clothes. There are hundreds (if not thousands!) of stores selling sarees, salwar kameezes & anarkalis in the city but the sheer size of inventory in some of the stores coupled with the over-enthusiastic sales people & the inability to get smaller sizes has put me off shopping for the longest time.
And then I chanced upon Saree.com. I was impressed at the collection & call me a weirdo but I’ve always preferred online shopping to brick & mortar stores. Another thing that I loved is that every single suit is custom made. So when I spotted this beautiful anarkali, I just measured myself & in about a week this custom tailored suit was at my door. It’s my first anarkali so I didn’t quite know what to expect but it looks great & is a lot more comfortable than walking in a saree. The floral embroidery & metallic trim make it very glamorous without being over the top & it has become my favorite item of Indian clothing in my wardrobe.
Hope you guys are having a fun Diwali break! x
