Made In Punjab opened in Inorbit Mall, Malad just a couple of weeks ago. Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra is pretty well known, Made in Punjab is the brainchild of his son Zorawar Kalra.
Here’s a little about the restaurant & the food they serve:
Punjab in Persian means (The Land of) Five Rivers; the menu at Made in Punjab, covers the culinary history of the regions surrounding these five rivers.
The menu at Made in Punjab comprises of food from the Sikh Kingdom, developed after in-depth study and research on the region’s culinary history, tracing the geographical landscape of the Five Rivers, in its untouched form, reviving some of the lost recipes, in all its glory. It showcases the culinary strength of gourmet cities like Amritsar, Patiala, Lahore, Peshawar and Baluchistan among other notable regions in the erstwhile Princely State, which apart from being an urbanised amalgamation of different cultures also have been known for their distinguished culinary history.
A day before it opened I got to attend a blogger preview with the FBAI folks, so here’s a few photos + thoughts from that evening.
The first thing we were directed to was the bar & while they have a good variety of drinks, the attraction for the evening was the bhel bar. You could choose what you wanted in the bhel, it was mixed in a cocktail shaker & served in a margarita glass.

The menu offers a good number of both vegetarian & meat options. I’m not too familiar with Punjabi cuisine but the sarson da saag on makki roti & chicken tikka were my favorites but I’m happy to announce that there were no duds!
One of their biggest draws is the lunch buffet which allows you to sample about 70% of the menu.
